The two houses were sealed when KPK investigators carried out a sting operation (OTT) on Bekasi Regent Ade Kuswara Kunang.
During a press conference regarding the alleged bribery case of Regent Ade Kuswara, Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the Corruption Eradication Commission Asep Guntur Rahayu explained the reasons for his party sealing two houses belonging to Eddy Sumarman.
Asep said the sealing was carried out when the team conducted an OTT in Bekasi Regency on Thursday, December 17 2025, finding suspected indications of Eddy’s involvement.
“So, the sealing was carried out during the OTT, initially suspected of being the perpetrator of a criminal act of corruption,” said Asep in a press conference at the KPK’s Red and White House, Saturday, December 20 2025 morning.
Asep said that the team at that time failed to bring Eddy along with the parties caught in the OTT in Bekasi Regency.Asep did not explain the obstacles the team faced so they failed to bring Eddy to the KPK’s Red and White House.
After the case title or exposure with the leadership, Eddy’s involvement was deemed to be insufficient evidence.
“We will of course also discuss the involvement of this party in the exposure, but those who have been determined to go up for investigation are the suspects who have met sufficient evidence,” explained Asep.
Therefore, Asep continued that investigators would open the seal again at Eddy’s house.
“Due to the lack of evidence, we will of course open the property which is sealed. As soon as it is determined, it will not be raised or not designated as a suspect, because that is his right,” said Asep.
The KPK named Regent Ade Kuswara, Head of Sukadami Village, South Cikarang District, H.M Kunang who is also the father of Regent Ade Kuswara, and a private party named Sarjan as suspects in the alleged bribery case.
The three suspects were detained at the KPK State Detention Center (Rutan) for the first 20 days until January 8 2026.
For their actions, Ade Kuswara and H.M Kunang as the parties who received the bribes were suspected of violating Article 12 a or Article 11 and Article 12B of the Corruption Eradication Law (UU Tipikor) juncto Article 55 paragraph 1 1st of the Criminal Code and Article 5 paragraph (1) letter a or b or Article 13 of the Anti-Corruption Law in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code.
Meanwhile, Sarjan, as the party giving the bribe, is suspected of violating Article 5 paragraph (1) letter a or b or Article 13 of the Corruption Law.
