IDR 1 billion is an injection of encouragement for athletes.
During the inauguration and release of the Indonesian contingent for the 2025 SEA Games, President Prabowo Subianto said the gold medal bonus was worth IDR 1 billion.
The bonus figure has doubled compared to the 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia.At that time, individual gold medal winners received IDR 525 million, IDR 420 million for the pairs sector, and IDR 367.5 each for the team.

According to Raja Sapta Oktohari, the bonus is more than just a gift, but an injection of enthusiasm and a form of state presence.
“The gold bonus which has increased to IDR 1 billion is not a matter of pragmatics, but an injection of enthusiasm. Athletes feel the presence of the state,” said Okto.
“If the attention was this big at the SEA Games, we can imagine future support for the Asian Games and Olympics,” Okto added.
At the 2023 Asian Games, the Indonesian government will provide a bonus of IDR 1.575 billion for individual gold winners.Then IDR 1.05 billion for pairs and IDR 787.5 for teams.
Meanwhile, at the 2024 Olympics, the bonus for gold medal winners is worth IDR 2.5 billion.The bonus is divided into compositions: IDR 1 billion in cash and IDR 1.5 billion in the form of a residential house.
As of the seventh day of the 2025 SEA Games, Tuesday (16/12), the Indonesian contingent had won 56 gold medals.
