Mahathir believes that Anwar does not represent the entire Malaysian Federation.
“The agreement is actually invalid because he (Anwar) is not the only party representing the federation,” said Mahathir at Malaysian Police Headquarters.
Furthermore, Mahathir said Anwar should seek approval from the four main entities namely the King of Malaysia, parliament, state council and government.
However, according to him, Anwar did not receive approval from all parties so it was considered invalid.
Anwar also believes that Anwar handed over power of Malaysia to the United States.
“The agreement document is 400 pages thick, but was never revealed to the public,” he said.
“There are many clauses that state the power of our country is handed over to the United States, that all our actions must refer to them and allow them to determine what we can and cannot do,” Mahathir added as quoted

.
On this occasion, Mahathir also touched on the status and position of the Bumiputera in the agreement which was not clearly detailed.
“In this agreement, all Bumiputera privileges cannot be applied to United States goods or trade.”This means that the power of the United States overrides Bumiputera privileges and all benefits given to Bumiputera must also be given to the United States,” he said.
Mahathir also stated that the police must investigate whether Anwar had violated the constitution. He noted that there were more than 139 police reports filed by individuals and non-profit institutions regarding the same problem.
Anwar and US President Donald Trump signed the ART on October 26.This trade agreement aims to increase economic activity in Malaysia and the US, adjust tariffs, and strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
Malaysian Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz has previously denied that ART will override Bumiputera priorities in government and government-linked companies (GLC) policies.
Zafrul also challenged Mahathir to point out a specific clause in the agreement that allegedly gives US companies equal privileges to Bumiputeras in Malaysia.
He then emphasized that it would be wrong to assume that Article 6.2 of the agreement requires companies linked to the government to make decisions based solely on ‘commercial considerations’ to the detriment of the Bumiputera.
