) was not present in person at the special case hearing related to the alleged case
fake diploma
which was held at Polda Metro Jaya, on Monday (15/12).
Jokowi’s lawyer, Yakup Hasibuan, said that his client had given him power of attorney to attend the implementation of a special case requested by the reported party.
“Because for this case we have been given power as legal representatives, we are the ones who have been given the power to attend,” he told reporters at Polda Metro Jaya.

Another team attorney, Rivai Kusumanegara, said that Jokowi hopes that the case of alleged fake diplomas will not drag on and can be transferred to court for trial.
“The hope is that all the problems considered by the suspects can be answered and then the case will immediately be transferred to trial through the public prosecutor,” he explained.
“The trial can also be attended by the media and the public, so that the issue is clear and not framed by certain parties,” he added.
On the other hand, Yakup believes there will be no significant changes in the results of this special case.The reason is, he said, today’s agenda is only to explain the basis for determining the suspect and the investigation process that has been carried out.
“This is just what they are explaining, the investigators. What has been done, so the suspects certainly have the right to know what has been done, what has been confiscated and so on,” he explained.
Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Budi Hermanto said that a special case regarding the case of Jokowi’s fake diploma report would be held at 10.00 WIB according to the request of the suspects, Roy Suryo Cs.
Budi said that special case proceedings would be followed by internal parties such as the National Police’s ITwasum, National Police’s Propam, National Police’s Legal Division and external parties from the National Police Commission, Kompolnas and the Ombudsman.
Most recently, Polda Metro Jaya also banned Roy Suryo and seven other suspects from leaving the country.Apart from being banned, the suspects are also required to report once a week every Thursday.
