“There’s no problem. Instead of sabotaging people becoming TNI and police security officers, that’s important,” said Bahlil at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Wednesday (26/11).
Bahlil also said that it was important for all state institutions to collaborate on various matters related to the interests of the state.
“I think all state institutions must collaborate to secure what is important for the state’s interests,” he said.
This discourse was previously conveyed by Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin. He explained that securing strategic industries that are related to state sovereignty is one of the TNI’s tasks in Military Operations Other Than War (OMSP).
“The tasks of securing strategic installations, especially those owned by Pertamina, are also part of OMSP and are included in the revision of the 14 articles of the TNI Law.
“We will carry out this starting in December, by assigning troops from the Indonesian Army,” said Sjafrie after a meeting with Commission I DPR RI at the parliament complex, Jakarta, Monday (24/11).
He said that apart from TNI Army personnel, Pertamina’s security would also be monitored by the TNI’s Strategic Intelligence Agency (BAIS).
“It will be monitored by the Strategic Intelligence Agency (BAIS) to be able to find out things that we might need to know as potential threats that might emerge, so that we can anticipate physical security,” he said.
