Life held a peaceful demonstration at the US Embassy and the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu) on Wednesday (10/12).
They demanded the deportation of three owners of PT Asuransi Jiwa Adisarana Wanaartha (Wanaartha Life) from Uncle Sam’s country.The three owners are Evelina Pietruschka, Manfred Pietruschka, and Rezananta Pietruschka.
A victim named Alim asked the government to follow up on the case of failure to pay by Wanaartha Life to customers whose legal process had been going on for 5-5 years.

“We ask that our government also pay attention to us, so that we can deport him to Indonesia. Because the legal process has been going on for 5 years. Meanwhile, Bareskrim, Polda, OJK, Prosecutor’s Office, Ombudsman, including the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud, Jokowi, we have also spoken out. We are the people. We need help from government parties,” said Alim when met directly in the middle of the Victims Alliance peaceful demonstration in front of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs office, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (10/12).
He said that the total number of policy holder victims was 29 thousand people with a total loss value of IDR 15.9 trillion.
“We should have been able to spend our money on shopping, we could have sent our children to school, that would have increased regional income and state income. However, we were attacked, robbed, the money was taken out, our country suffered losses, we fell into poverty,” he said.
On the same occasion, another victim named Rosni said the amount of loss he experienced reached IDR 1.2 billion.He said the money was intended for him when he was young to live out his old age now.
“I’m one of Wanartha’s victims too. Here, sir, money for old age, they took it. I got IDR 1.2 billion (the amount of loss). That’s for children’s milk. In old age in Indonesia, what do you want to do? What can you do? Does the government give you social assistance?”Rosni said while crying.
“One of our friends, Mr. Dedi, died in court. It’s been 2 years. December 19 will be 2 years since his death. Where is justice for us? To this day there has been no justice. Sir, I ask for help, Mr. President Prabowo. Please uphold justice for this country,” he added.
Chairman of the Wanaartha Victims Alliance, Johanes Guntoro, conveyed the results of the hearing with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, namely that the owner of Wanaartha Life committed crimes against the victims until one of the victims died while undergoing the trial process.
In this way, he also asked the government to withhold the asylum request submitted by the owner of Wanaartha Life.
“Currently they (Wanaartha Life owners) are applying for asylum. Asylum states that they are not criminals. They are being wronged by the state. That’s why we are here to defend the real country. Don’t let the asylum be accepted,” he said.
The Wanaartha Victims Alliance held a peaceful demonstration at the United States (US) Embassy at 10.00 WIB and at the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs at 14.00 WIB.
In this action, they brought three main points.
First
, asked the owner of the Wanaartha Insurance Company who fled to the US to be deported and dragged back to Indonesia so that he could be held responsible for the tragedy that harmed customers.
Second
, ensuring that the US does not provide any form of immigration protection, including asylum, golden visas, or other immigration facilities to suspects.
Third,
encourage and facilitate coordination of authorities between the Indonesian government and the US government to speed up the process of repatriating suspects to ensure fair and dignified law enforcement.
The Financial Services Authority (OJK) itself has revoked Wanaartha’s business license.This is stated in the Decree on the Cancellation of the Certificate of Registration with the OJK to the Public Accountant (AP) and the Public Accounting Firm (KAP).
“Relevant APs are not permitted to provide services to SJK and related KAPs are not permitted to accept new assignments since the decree was issued. OJK also continues to monitor the implementation of the liquidation process and the ongoing Liquidation Team (TL) work program,” said Deputy Chairman of the OJK Board of Commissioners Mirza Adityaswara, Monday (3/4/23).
