In the midst of the devastating situation that hit the Sumatra flood disaster area, the names Maarten and Dean suddenly appeared.
The goalkeeper and full back of the Indonesian National Team were not present there, but there was a large poster with the words players who are currently competing in foreign football leagues as.a sign of helping hands both arrived in Sumatra.

“Thank you, Maarten Paes. Thank you for helping our brothers and sisters in Sumatra,” said a board with a white background held by children who were victims of the disaster caused by deforestation on Andalas Island.
Likewise, a sign saying ‘Thank you, Dean James. Thank you for helping our brothers in Sumatra’, was held by a barefoot boy.
The two posters were also seen being held by refugees and amidst piles of aid items in the form of food and medical equipment.

The photos were uploaded by the account of one of the football supporters @smeckhooligan.Smeck is a supporter of the PSMS Medan team.
“Thank you to the two @timnasindonesia retainers who took part in providing assistance to our brothers. Best regards! @deanjames @maartenpaes,” wrote the caption of the upload accompanied by a red heart emoji and the Indonesian flag.
Maarten and Dean were listed as one of the people who ‘liked’ the upload.
Previously, another Indonesian national team player, Calvin Verdonk, was also suspected of providing assistance to victims of the flood disaster in Aceh.
According to information from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) as of Sunday (14/12), the number of victims who died as a result of floods and landslides in Aceh, West Sumatra and North Sumatra is now recorded at 1,030 people.
The number of victims declared missing has now become 206 people and the number of refugees has reached 608,940 people.
