The Epstein Records Transparency Act calls for the opening of all Epstein case files within 30 days.
All unclassified records, documents, communications and investigative materials related to Epstein belonging to the Department of Justice, the FBI and prosecutors must be disclosed to the public without reservation. This includes files relating to Epstein’s accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell.
Epstein is a US financier involved in cases of sexual trafficking of underage girls. The Justice Department charged him in the case in 2019, which he strongly denied.
Shortly after being imprisoned in Manhattan, Epstein reportedly died by suicide.Epstein was awaiting trial in that case.
The Epstein scandal has become a major stumbling block for the Trump administration. For months, US citizens, including Trump supporters, have believed that Trump was trying to cover up the Epstein case because he allegedly involved many influential figures.
Some also believe that Trump has obscured the details of Epstein’s death.
Some time ago, a photo of Trump and Epstein circulated which proved their closeness in the past. However, Trump argued that the photo was taken before his relationship with Epstein broke down.
Trump admitted that he had not been close to Epstein for a long time because he felt that Epstein was “a mentally ill pervert.”
The Trump administration was previously reluctant to open the Epstein file because it believed there was no credible evidence that influential figures were involved in the case.Epstein is said to have had no “client list” as publicly alleged.
Statements from the Department of Justice and the FBI this July also sparked public anger.US citizens finally united in demanding that the government immediately open the Epstein case file.
