declares the vacuum of
UFC
in 2026 because he has family needs.
Shocking news came from Topuria who asked to postpone the fight to next year.Topuria is one of the mainstay fighters after becoming the new UFC lightweight champion.
Topuria became the new UFC champion after defeating Charles Oliveira at UFC 317 to fight for the lightweight championship belt which was vacant after Islam Makhachev left to welterweight.

After last fighting last June, Topuria has the potential to return to a duel in late 2025 or early 2026. However, Topuria’s latest fight will have to take a little longer because of the problems facing this 28 year old fighter.
“I will not fight in the first quarter of next year. I am going through a difficult time in my personal life,” Topuria said in a post on X.
“I want to focus on my children and resolve this situation as soon as possible,” Topuria said.
By being absent in the first quarter of 2026, Topuria will be absent for at least three months next year.Regarding the next duel, this Spanish fighter has completely handed over to the UFC.Topuria only promised to return as soon as possible.
“I don’t want to hinder this division. The UFC will arrange the necessary fights, and as soon as this matter is resolved, I will let the UFC know that I am ready to return,” said Topuria.
