SEA Games
2025 will start today Wednesday (3/12).The following is today’s SEA Games schedule which will feature Thailand and Vietnam matches.
The Vietnam U-23 national team will play Laos in the opening match of the 2025 SEA Games men’s football at Rajamangala Stadium, Bangkok, Wednesday (3/12).
The Laos vs Vietnam match in Group B will be held at 16.00 WIB.Even though they are considered the superior team, Vietnam U-23 coach Kim Sang Sik does not want to underestimate Laos, which has made progress in football.

“Laos have not achieved good results on the Asian stage recently, but I am sure they can do better because they have extraordinary quality,” said Kim Sang Sik as quoted by

“The 33rd SEA Games are very important for Vietnam U-22, but this also applies to Laos U-22. Coach Ha Hyeok-jun has helped them become stronger. This group only consists of 3 teams, so every match is a final. We have to win to have a chance of qualifying and our concentration for tomorrow must be at the highest level,” added Kim Sang Sik.
Meanwhile, Laos coach Ha Hyeok Jun said his team had prepared optimally.Now, according to him, the team only needs one win and one draw to qualify for the semifinals.
“Just winning one match and drawing one match is enough, although reaching the semifinals is never easy. We have two players who played in Thailand, they have good abilities and have a positive influence on the whole team,” said Ha Hyeok Jun.
Meanwhile, in today’s other match, the Thailand U-23 national team as host of the SEA Games will face Timor Leste U-23 in the first Group A match.
The Timor Leste vs Thailand match will take place at Rajamangala Stadium, Bangkok, on Wednesday (3/12) at 19.00 WIB.
Thailand U-23 coach Worrawoot Dabrrom-Ongtrakul emphasized that his team wants to win the men’s soccer gold medal after 8 years of waiting.
“Our goal is to win. Thailand has been absent from the SEA Games title for too long, since 2017 in Malaysia,” said Worrawoot.
He also said that Thailand had been preparing carefully for a long time.
“This time we are hosting the SEA Games. The team has been training for months, through tournaments in Indonesia, Asian qualifiers in Thailand, friendly matches in China, and most recently in India. We have selected the best players from four training sessions to take part in the SEA Games,” said Worrawoot.
