Indonesian National Army (
TNI
) denied providing aid in the form of empty cardboard boxes which were distributed via the dropping method from planes or helicopters to victims of flood and landslide disasters in Sumatra.
Airdrop Rigger Team and Airdrop Task Force member Lt. Col. Cba Supriyanto ensured that every helybox distributed to disaster victims had been filled with aid in the form of basic food items.
He explained that the helybox was not fully filled, so it was more heavy than it could handle when dropped from the plane.

“Why is it only half full, because there is a stipulation that the maximum weight is 5 kilos along with the contents. We will weigh five kilos,” he said in a video description shared, Tuesday (23/12).
“If we fill it completely, it will be 9 kilos. Then it will weigh down and the contents will be crushed or crushed,” added Supriyanto.
Furthermore, he ensured that all the helyboxes sent contained aid for the community. He said checks were also carried out in layers from the packaging process to transportation to the plane.
This clarification from the TNI also refutes the narrative circulating on social media which states that aid distributed by airborne helyboxes is not filled with anything, aka empty cardboard.
