will hold a meeting to discuss ceasefire negotiations following the war that flared up again on the border, Wednesday (24/12).
Malaysian Foreign Minister Mohamad Hasan said the talks would be carried out through an existing bilateral mechanism chaired by the defense ministers of both countries, the Common Boundary Committee.

“The GBC will hold a meeting on December 24 2025 to discuss the implementation and verification of the ceasefire,” Hasan said in Kuala Lumpur, quoted

He then said, “ASEAN Foreign Ministers expressed the hope that hostilities would soon subside.”
The plan for the Thailand-Cambodia meeting emerged after ASEAN Foreign Ministers held a meeting on Monday in Kuala Lumpur.
On this occasion, Hasan said that the ASEAN Foreign Ministers welcomed the meeting between the two countries which were currently in turmoil.
“ASEAN Foreign Ministers welcomed discussions on resuming the ceasefire and cessation of hostilities,” he said.
Meanwhile, Thai Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow said it was important to take time to improve the situation and formulate a detailed implementation plan.This, he continued, was done to achieve a ceasefire “that really lasts”.
In recent weeks, Thailand and Cambodia have fought.As a result of the war, dozens of people died and hundreds of thousands of residents on the border between the two countries were displaced.
Prior to this, Thailand and Cambodia fought last June for five days.The two countries then agreed to a ceasefire after being mediated by Malaysia as chairman of ASEAN.
The ceasefire was later expanded into a peace agreement in October.
