“We brought aid to East Aceh and Tamiang, but when we were stopped in Kandang (Lhokseumawe area) we were told to lower the flag,” said a resident who was part of the group when confirmed.
The dispersal action also occurred in North Aceh when the masses held a demonstration to demand the determination of national disaster status.Residents who were waving the Moon and Star flag were also raided by the TNI until the action was dispersed.
Head of Information for the Iskandar Muda Military Command, Lt. Col. Inf. T. Mustafa Kamal, confirmed that his party had dispersed a convoy of residents flying the Moon and Star flag.
“The flag (moon and star flag) is not legal, by law you are not allowed to raise any flag other than the Red and White,” said Mustafa Kamal when confirmed.

According to him, the Moon and Star flag has not yet been approved to be flown, so his party is taking anticipatory steps.
“Aceh has specialties but the flag has not been approved according to the law,” he said.
Meanwhile, someone suspected of carrying a firearm has been handed over to the police for follow-up.Mustafa confirmed that only one person was arrested.
“(We arrested) 1 person who was carrying a firearm, we have handed it over to the police,” he said.
The disbandment action was commanded by Danrem Lilawangsa.
