to seven naturalized Malaysian players bringing in Indonesia.
Ismail conveyed this criticism in a meeting session with supporters in Johor.According to Ismail, who is familiarly known as TMJ, he questioned FIFA’s decision to consider the Malaysian government’s documents wrong.
“Why are their documents (FIFA) considered correct? Why are our documents wrong? If our documents are wrong, that means you are not a Malaysian citizen, maybe you are an Indonesian citizen,” said TMJ, quoted from

“If they question the National Registration Service (JPN) documents, then your citizenship can also be questioned,” TMJ added.
The citizenship status of seven naturalized Malaysian players is a problem because they are thought to be using fake documents.During the investigation and appeal process, FIFA revealed a number of pieces of evidence which it considered strong to punish the Malaysian Football Association and the seven naturalized players.
As a result, FAM was sentenced to a fine of 350,000 Swiss francs or the equivalent of IDR 7.3 billion, while seven naturalized players were sentenced to a fine of 2,000 Swiss francs and were banned from playing for 12 months.
The seven players punished were: Gabriel Palmero, Facundo Garces, Rodrigo Holgado, Imanol Machuca, Joao Figueiredo, Jon Irazabal, and Hector Hevel.
After the appeal to FIFA was rejected, FAM has now submitted an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).According to Tunku Ismail, Malaysia must not give up whatever the CAS decision will be.
“This case is now at CAS. If we don’t win, it doesn’t mean our football is dead. We need to keep moving forward,” said TMJ.
