Myanmar
reportedly bombarded a hospital in Mrauk-U, Rakhine State, killing more than 30 people on Wednesday (10/12).
Rakhine state was once home to the majority Rohingya ethnic minority who were targets of persecution by the military junta.Currently, the area is largely controlled by rebel militia groups and the opposition to the Myanmar junta.

Hun Aung reported that the airstrike occurred on Wednesday evening.A military fighter jet reportedly dropped a series of bombs on the hospital while people were sleeping.
“Currently we can confirm that there are 31 deaths and we estimate that the number can still increase. Apart from that, there are 68 people injured, that number will also increase,” said Hun Aung.
At least 20 wrapped bodies were seen lying outside the hospital at night.
This brutal attack by the military junta took place ahead of the elections which will start this month.
The Myanmar junta has determined that elections will be held on December 28 after taking over power by overthrowing the civilian government in 2021.
Since then, Myanmar has faced civil war again.According to conflict monitoring agencies, Myanmar’s military junta has continued to increase the intensity of air strikes since returning to power.
Meanwhile, the Myanmar junta claims that the upcoming elections will be a way out of the civil war that continues to ravage the people.
But the rebel group has vowed to thwart the election procession in areas they control, which the junta is now trying to recapture.
Meanwhile, until now, a spokesman for the Myanmar junta could not be contacted for comment and confirmation regarding this latest air attack targeting civilians.
