Akhmad Syukri shared his experience of walking for three days until he was thought to be missing
flood
and landslides hit the North Sumatra region.
In a post on Instagram, Akhmad Syukri said he crossed North Tapanuli and Central Tapanuli Regencies to arrive at Sibolga City.There, he tried to provide information but was hampered by network problems.

“On Friday afternoon, thank God, I arrived in Sibolga on foot for 3 days and 2 nights. From Parsikkaman, North Tapanuli Regency, entered Naga Timbul Tapteng Village (Central Tapanuli) to Sibolga. And I tried to provide information to Sibolga City, but there was no network at all,” he wrote on Instagram on Saturday (29/11).
Akhmad Syukri said that upon arriving in Sibolga, he immediately coordinated with the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) to quickly resolve the flood problem.
“Arriving in Sibolga, I immediately went to work, in coordination meetings with the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) from Jakarta, to resolve the disaster in Sibolga City,” he wrote.
Akhmad Syukri was thought to be missing after he could not be contacted since Tuesday (25/11).

Chairman of the Aceh Territory NasDem DPP, Bakhtiar Ahmad Sibarani, on Thursday (27/11) admitted that he had not succeeded in contacting the Mayor.Akhmad Syukri was last in the flood area of Sitahuis District, Central Tapanuli Regency.
Bakhtiar said Syukri rushed back to Sibolga on Monday (24/11) evening after receiving information about high rainfall in the area.At that time, Syukri was carrying out activities in Medan.
Syukri’s last message that Bakhtiar received was sent on Tuesday (25/11) at 11.10 WIB.In a screenshot of the message, Syukri explained that the route to Sibolga was blocked by floods and landslides.The opposite direction, towards North Tapanuli, was also impassable due to a similar disaster.
“He sent a message about the condition of being trapped in Sitahuis, and there was no network there,” explained Bakhtiar.
On Friday, the Head of BNPB, Lt. Gen. TNI Suharyanto, also said that Syukri had been found after he could be contacted again.Syukri is said to be trapped between the landslide routes in the Sibolga and Tarutung areas.
“He said, ‘I walked for 4 days’. Coincidentally, he got stuck on the landslide route that I said earlier between Sibolga and Tarutung, which is now open,” he said.
“So, thank God, there are no problems in his condition, he is in good health, now he may be tired, later tomorrow we plan to meet to see Sibolga,” he added.
Floods hit several areas of Sumatra, including Sibolga, killing 174 people.In Sibolga City, 33 people were recorded as having died.Until now, the city is still isolated after floods and landslides cut off road access.
