Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) in Guangzhou,

will repatriate one Indonesian citizen who was a victim of the Crime of Human Trafficking (TPPO) using the bride-order mode on Monday (17/11).
The Indonesian Consulate General in Guangzhou for about one month covered RR’s accommodation and housing costs as well as his return costs.

“The Indonesian Consulate General in Guangzhou will try to optimally protect Indonesian citizens, sister RR who can be repatriated based on good coordination between the local government and the government in Indonesia,” said the Indonesian Consul General (Consul General), Ben Perkasa Drajat, quoted from the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs website.
Dr Ben also led a meeting with RR’s husband’s family and the local government.
Both parties agree to end the marriage according to local law.
On October 18, RR returned to Indonesia accompanied by the Consular Consul of the Indonesian Consulate General in Guangzhou.
RR was handed over by the Indonesian Consul General in Guangzhou to the Indonesian Police, represented by Commissioner Nirwan Fakaubun from the International Relations Division and AKP Ade Saepudin, Investigator at the West Java Regional Police, for further processing in Indonesia.
The Indonesian and RR Police expressed their thanks to the Indonesian Consul General and the team for this resolution.
“I would like to express my gratitude for the efforts of the Consul General and the staff of the Indonesian Consulate General in Guangzhou in efforts to repatriate me,” said RR during the handover ceremony.
The Indonesian Consulate General in Guangzhou has handled more than 10 cases using the mail-order bride mode in 2025.
Indonesian citizens need to know their prospective partners well and understand the administrative procedures for inter-country marriages.
They must also follow the requirements in Indonesia and in their prospective partner’s country of origin.
