arrested by London police after taking part in a demonstration supporting pro-Palestinian activists, Palestine Action, who were on hunger strike.
“Greta Thunberg was arrested under the Terrorism Act at a demonstration for Palestine,” said a statement by the activist group Prisoners for Palestine, quoted by AFP.

When arrested, Thunberg was said to be holding a banner that read “I support Palestinian Action prisoners. I oppose genocide.”
London police also admitted that their officers had arrested three people on suspicion of vandalism at a building in London’s financial district.
It said the arrests came after “hammers and red paint were used to damage a building”.
“A man and woman have been arrested on suspicion of vandalism. They are located near the scene and specialist officers are working to free them and take them into custody,” said a London Police statement.
“A few moments later, a 22-year-old woman (Greta Thunberg) came to the scene. She was arrested for displaying items (banners) supporting the banned organization (Palestine Action) which is contrary to Article 13 of the 2000 Terrorism Law,” added the statement.
The British government has banned the Palestine Action organization since last July, after activists broke into an air force base and caused damage.
Some of the eight prisoners on hunger strike have been charged over the incident.Members of the organization aged between 20 and 31 are facing trial in connection with the break-in or vandalism by Palestine Action.
They went on hunger strike to protest the treatment they received and demanded release on bail.Two of the arrested members of the organization began a hunger strike in early November, with other members joining in the following weeks.
