“Mama is sorry, mom is sorry,” said Sari at the Bandung Police Hall, Friday (28/11).
Bandung Police Chief Commissioner Budi Sartono said Sari killed her child just because she was jealous.
From the results of the examination, said Budi, Sari admitted that she was jealous because her husband loved the victim more than their baby child.
“The perpetrator was jealous and annoyed because the perpetrator felt that the victim’s husband or father loved the victim more. This caused the perpetrator to vent his anger and jealousy on the victim,” he said.
Budi said the suspect had tortured the victim more than once.This was proven after the police carried out an autopsy on the toddler’s body.
“The fatal thing was at the time of the incident. However, we also found other injuries that were inflicted before the incident occurred that killed the victim,” he said.
During the incident on Friday (21/11), the suspect and the victim’s father were involved in an argument.Then when the victim’s father went back to work, the perpetrator committed an act of violence against the victim.
Initially the perpetrator asked the victim to take a shower.At that time the perpetrator pushed the toddler in the chest which caused the victim to fall and hit his head on the tile until he became unconscious.
The police charged Sari Mulyani with article 80 paragraph (3) Jo 76C Law Number 35 of 2014 concerning amendments to Law Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection.
“The penalty is 15 years in prison,” he said.
