“In the first week, it is targeted that at least 500 housing units will be completed out of a total of 15 thousand units carried out by BUMN this December, in addition to residential construction by BNPB and the PUPR Ministry which is also underway,” said Teddy in a statement regarding the contents of the meeting, as quoted

Teddy explained that building temporary housing (huntara) and permanent housing (huntap) for refugees affected by flash floods and landslides in Sumatra is one of the government’s priorities in line with the emergency response period still in effect in a number of districts/cities affected by the disaster.
More than 30,000 houses are planned to be built immediately by the government, assisted by BUMN, TNI and Polri.
Apart from that, the two of them also discussed restoring communication access in disaster-affected areas.
“It is hoped that BUMN’s Base Transceiver Station (BTS) telecommunications infrastructure will soon function optimally,” said Teddy.
BUMN was also involved in sending dozens of heavy equipment, clean water tanks and thousands of workers for recovery and clean-up activities in Aceh Tamiang Regency, one of the areas badly affected by flash floods in Aceh Province.
Apart from that, banking services, especially from state-owned banks in disaster-affected areas, are also targeted to be active again after being paralyzed for nearly a month due to flash floods and landslides.
“All government elements are working as quickly as possible so that community activities can return to normal as before. All activities are carried out together with residents who continue to work together with officers to restore this situation,” said Teddy.
