Said Abdullah was re-elected as Chairman of the DPD PDI Perjuangan (
PDIP
) East Java for the period 2025-2030.This decision was confirmed through the PDIP East Java Regional Conference (Konferda), at the Shangri-La Hotel Surabaya, East Java, Saturday (20/12).
Said and the ranks of the East Java PDIP DPD administrators were also inaugurated in an inauguration procession and taking the oath of office led by the Chair of the PDIP DPP Ideology and Cadre Development Division, Djarot Saiful Hidayat.

In his second term, Said set an electoral target of up to five million additional votes in the next election.According to him, this target cannot be separated from the orientation of the people’s program which touches the most basic needs of the people of East Java.
“We have many programs. We want the first one, of course, to be called a political party, so the first thing we will do is strengthen people’s programs. The most important thing, in East Java at the moment, I want to improve the quality of education. We want to have superior human resources,” said Said.
“So whether we like it or not, whether we like it or not, the East Java PDIP DPD should initiate the formation of the endowment fund that I mentioned earlier, so that we can create 50 thousand startups by 2030. Because that is the capital so that we can welcome 2045 as the golden Indonesia that we all aspire to,” he added.
Said realized that this political target was not a light burden. However, he is optimistic that this can be achieved if the entire party structure works collectively and solidly.
Regarding the composition of the management, Said emphasized that there would be no downsizing of the structure. He said the entry of a number of cadres from the DPC level into the DPD ranks was part of a healthy regeneration process, not a replacement that was dismissive.
One of the most prominent new faces is the Mayor of Surabaya, Eri Cahyadi. This time he is carrying out his duties as Deputy Chair for Tourism, Youth and Sports of the PDIP DPD.
“We are saying that every conference should not be like it is throwing people away. That’s not what conferences are. Conferences are part of regeneration and at the same time improvement,” said Said.
Said also emphasized that the inclusion of Islamic boarding school figures as heads of the religious sector is nothing new for PDIP East Java, which has so far maintained close relations with kiai and religious organizations.
“We are used to communicating, we have good relations with kiai, with religious organizations, both NU and Muhammadiyah, we are used to it,” said Said.
Said also confirmed that there would be no changes in the PDIP faction of the East Java DPRD even though the DPD management was undergoing reform. He emphasized the importance of the party’s continued performance in parliament.
