Said Abdullah
ensure that the entire series of Regional Conferences (Konferda) and Branch Conferences (Konfercab) in 38 PDIP districts/cities throughout East Java have been completed.
The results of this consolidation, he said, confirmed the direction of regeneration of the party which is now dominated by young cadres.
Said said that currently more than half of the East Java PDIP DPD and DPC management structure is filled with cadres aged 25 to 40 years. This composition is considered to be important capital for the party in facing political contestation in 2029.

“The konferda konfercab conference has been completed. If I look at the composition of the DPD DPC personnel, I am grateful… Because it turns out that almost 52 percent of the management is in the 25-40 year age range. This means that I have declared that regeneration in PDIP for East Java has been relatively successful,” said Said at the Shangri-La Hotel, Surabaya, Monday (21/12).
With this structure, Said admitted that he was optimistic that the East Java PDIP would be able to maintain and increase its vote share in future elections.
According to him, the strength of human resources filled with young cadres gives the party confidence in looking to the future. However, Said reminded that political contestation in 2029 will not be easy. The main challenge, according to him, comes from changes in voter demographics, which are dominated by Generation Z and Alpha.
“It’s not easy to face 2029. That’s the first thing. Second, how do we actually position ourselves as political parties, in this case PDIP, to face 70 percent of Gen Z and Alpha voters,” he said.
A jargon-based political approach is ineffective
Said believes that a jargon-based political approach is no longer effective in attracting young voters. He emphasized the importance of real work and direct presence in society.
“Gen Z and Alpha just don’t care about salon politicians, political jargon. Even though what they want is concrete, real work going down to the ground, listening to the aspirations of our younger siblings who are Gen Z and Alpha, then we formulate it into policy so that Gen Z and Alpha will really
welcome
against PDIP,” he said.
Regarding structural strengthening, Said emphasized the role of the DPC and PAC as the party’s front guard. He said further consolidation would be carried out through a working meeting in January.
“The DPC and PAC live with the people, cry and laugh with the people. They are the front guard,” he said.
