“No matter which plane is handed over to the Kyiv regime, this will not change the frontline situation and dynamics,” he added on Tuesday (18/11).
This harsh criticism by Russia occurred when the Elysee Palace confirmed that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was visiting Paris on Monday (17/11).
Zelensky said they would have an air defense system after signing a memorandum of understanding with French President Emmanuel Macron at Villacoublay Air Force Base southwest of Paris.
“We will have the greatest air defense system, one of the greatest in the world,” he was quoted as saying

Macron said some drone and bomb deliveries were made in a short timeframe with manufacturing commitments made for the next three years.
The Elysee Palace said the purchase stated in the agreement would last for the next 10 years.
The signing of the deal for 100 Rafale fighter jets and other military equipment aims to support Ukraine in facing the Russian invasion.
The document also includes cooperation plans for the under-development new generation SAMP-T air defense system, radars and drones.
Zelensky called the deal a “historic deal.”
Meanwhile, Macron emphasized that now is a difficult moment in the conflict that started when Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022.
“Russia chose to prolong and escalate this war,” he said alongside Zelensky, accusing Russia of having an addiction to war.
But Macron hopes peace can be achieved before 2027, when his term ends.
Zelensky had previously approved a letter of intent to buy 100 to 150 Gripen fighter jets from Sweden.
Previously, France had sent Mirage jets to Kyiv, but this is the first time they have promised to send Rafales.
France will use the European Union’s national budget and loan mechanisms, despite potential German resistance to helping Kyiv.
Zelensky’s visit this time is the ninth since Russia’s major invasion began.
The visit comes ahead of a winter that analysts predict will be difficult for Kyiv as Moscow’s military pressure continues to increase.
The previous night, Russian attacks killed three people in the Kharkiv region and seven people were killed after Russia shelled an apartment block in Kyiv on Friday (14/11).
According to Moscow’s Defense Ministry, Russian troops captured three more villages in eastern Ukraine.
United States President Donald Trump’s efforts to push for a peace deal have stalled because Moscow has rejected a ceasefire.
With new Rafale jets set to arrive after the war ends, Macron said: “There will be no sustainable peace without a formidable Ukrainian armed force.”
