on Tuesday (23/12) reported that the charges stemmed from allegations by two other women regarding incidents that allegedly occurred in 2009.

“The women who have come forward, including those in relation to these two new charges, continue to receive support from specially trained officers,” said Detective Inspector Tariq Farooqi.
Inspector Farooqi, who is leading the investigation, emphasized that the police continue to accompany the victim.The police also open space for anyone with additional information to report to strengthen the investigation process.
The two latest charges add to the case that has already ensnared the Forgetting Sarah Marshall star.He has been charged with two counts of rape, one count of indecent assault and two counts of sexual abuse.

Farooqi added that this investigation was launched after police received several allegations following major coverage in 2023 from the documentary series Channel 4 Dispatches and The Sunday Times.It was emphasized that the process was “still ongoing.”
Reports in 2023 accused Brand of “rape, sexual assault and emotional abuse.”
A representative for the show said that “Five women, four of whom asked to remain anonymous, agreed to share their stories about serious sexual allegations on the program.”
Regarding this case, Russell Brand previously claimed not guilty of charges involving four women which occurred between 1999 and 2005 at Southwark Crown Court.
The trial for these charges is scheduled to begin on June 3, 2026. He will remain under conditional bail until then.
Russell Brand is an English comedian, actor and television presenter.He is known for his roles in comedy films, such as Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008) and Get Him to the Greek (2010).
