JakTirta and National Capital Integrated Coastal Development (NCICD) phase A stage 3 for the 2025-2027 budget year worth IDR 2.6 trillion to strengthen the Capital City’s resilience to flood and tidal disasters.
“We call the handling of the flood project in Jakarta JakTirta. Why JakTirta? Jak is Jakarta, Tirta is water. The value of this signing is IDR 2.62 trillion. To strengthen the city of Jakarta’s resilience to floods and tidal waves,” DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said at the Contract Signing and Launching of the Jakarta Flood & Flood Control Project, Wednesday (24/12).
Pramono said the pattern of flood management in Jakarta must be changed from responsive to preventive with medium-term planning.

“Flood management in Jakarta, once again, cannot only be short-term. Or when a flood occurs then we rush into it. So I conveyed this to the Water Resources staff, to Mrs. Ika (Head of SDA) and everyone, that the handling should be more intermediate,” said Pramono.
On the same occasion, Head of the DKI Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Department, Ika Agustin, reported that the construction of this flood and tidal control project will be implemented next year, namely 2026 to 2027.
Ika explained that the construction of the project was divided into four clusters to deal with inundation in the DKI Jakarta area.
“The development that we will carry out is divided into four clusters. The first is the construction of a polder system. Then the construction of rivers and rivers. The construction of embungs or reservoirs, as well as the construction and strengthening of coastal safety embankments,” said Ika.
Ika detailed that the activity package worth Rp. 2.6 trillion had completed the tender selection process and was ready to be executed after signing the contract.
The main focus of the project work includes nine polder system construction packages spread across 13 locations, and reinforced with 63 new pump units beyond the existing capacity. Then there are two packages for building reservoirs in three locations. Then there are two packages for the construction of a two kilometer long coastal protection embankment, as well as river revitalization of the same length.
According to Ika, the determination of construction location points was not carried out randomly, but focused on areas that had a history of repeated inundation based on inundation distribution data for the 2020-2024 period.
“The areas we will carry out include: West Jakarta, Central Jakarta, East Jakarta, South Jakarta and North Jakarta. So all five areas are covered,” said Ika.
