Meanwhile, the Bank Indonesia (BI) Jakarta Interbank Spot Dollar Rate (Jisdor) reference rate put the rupiah at IDR 16,767 per US dollar in trading this afternoon.

The majority of Asian currencies strengthened.The Chinese yuan rose 0.18 percent, the Singapore dollar rose 0.19 percent, the Philippine peso strengthened 0.19 percent, the Malaysian ringgit rose 0.33 percent, the South Korean won rose 1.64 percent, the Japanese yen rose 0.26 percent, and the Thai baht rose 0.30 percent.
In developed countries, exchange rate movements vary.The British pound fell 0.03 percent, the European euro minus 0.04 percent, the Swiss franc fell 0.04 percent, the Canadian dollar fell 0.06 percent, the Australian dollar strengthened 0.21 percent.
Doo Financial Futures analyst Lukman Leong said the rupiah closed stronger against the weakening US dollar.
“With the US dollar index dropping to its lowest level in 11 weeks on the prospect of the Fed’s loose policy in 2026,” he said
