Ronny has Manadonese blood.He was born in Medan on April 15 1947. In fact, football was not the main sport that Ronny played when he was young.He first knew tennis.

In fact, Ronny was registered as North Sumatra’s representative for tennis at National Sports Week (PON) VII in 1965. Unfortunately the event was cancelled.
From Tennis, Ronny switched to football.It was his father, Felix Pasla, who made him change direction.To hone his talent, Ronny entered the Dinamo Medan club.
In 1967, Ronny led PSMS Medan to win the Soeratin Cup title.At that time, the 1967 Soeratin Cup title belonged jointly to PSMS and Persija Jakarta.
This success resulted in Ronny being called up to the Indonesian National Team.At that time Ronny was only 20 years old.It was coach Djamiat Dalhar who first called him to the national team.
When the reins of coach shifted to Erenst Albert Mangindaan, Endang Witarsa, Suwardi Arlan, and Wiel Coerver, Ronny’s name remained a regular for the Indonesian National Team.
The calling of many coaches in this era indicates that Ronny’s quality has been tested.The series of achievements achieved by the former PSMS and Persija goalkeeper are also quite impressive.
He led the Indonesian national team to win the Aga Khan Cup title in Bangladesh in 1967. In the same year he also won the Merdeka Games title in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Ronny’s last achievements for the red and white were third place in the Saigon Cup in Vietnam in 1970 and champion of the Sports Festival in Singapore in 1972.
While defending the Indonesian National Team for almost two decades, Ronny appeared very prominent.At that time, national mass media said his playing style was similar to Lev Yashin, a legend from the Soviet Union.
One of Ronny’s most memorable actions was when the Indonesian National Team tried out against Santos at the Senayan Main Stadium (now GBK) on June 21 1972.
This match was fierce.Santos controlled and repeatedly endangered the Indonesian goal.Santos and Brazil star Pele’s penalty kick was even saved by Ronny.
Ronny was also one of the players who shone when the Indonesian National Team practiced against Manchester United in 1975. This match ended 0-0.
However, the nickname most often given to him is Leopard.Ronny is nicknamed the Indonesian Leopard because he jumps high and far like a big cat.
At the end of his career, when he was three to almost four, Ronny defended Young Indonesia.He then hung up his gloves at the age of 40 or in 1987.
After retiring, Ronny decided to enter the world of tennis again.He founded the tennis club Velodrom Tennis School Jakarta.He is also a tennis coach at his club.
