Through a video statement on Wednesday (24/12), Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson I Yvonne Mewengkang said the Indonesian government regretted the inappropriate actions “performed by an individual known publicly as Bonnie Blue or Tia Emma Billinger in front of the Indonesian Embassy in London whose video was widely circulated on social media.”
“The Indonesian Embassy in London has submitted an official complaint to the relevant authorities in England, including the British Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the local police for further handling in accordance with the laws, procedures and authorities in force in England,” said Yvonne.

Yvonne emphasized that freedom of expression cannot be used as an excuse to belittle or insult symbols of honor of other countries.
“Freedom of expression cannot be used as a justification for denigrating symbols of other countries or harming the principle of mutual respect in relations between countries,” he added.
RI’s complaint emerged after Bonnie Blue uploaded video content showing her and a number of masked men in front of the Indonesian Embassy building in London.
Bonnie Blue is seen holding a Red and White flag and tucking the flag in the back of her trousers so that it dangles to the floor as she walks.
The video was reportedly taken when Bonnie Blue was required to visit the Indonesian Embassy in London to pay a fine after being deported from Indonesia some time ago.
Bonnie Blue was deported from Bali after being caught violating traffic and a number of other actions.
“The person concerned has been deported and denied entering Indonesia for 10 years,” said Yvonne.
