“It’s impossible for the accuracy to be 100 percent because it will learn. After comparing the results in the field, additional input will be added so that the AI can learn. Now they say it’s 90 percent accurate,” he explained.
Purbaya is optimistic that the use of scanners and the development of AI technology can strengthen the transparency and security of the flow of goods, and close the loopholes for fraud.
Apart from that, he showed off the sophistication of Trade AI which is claimed to be able to directly compare exported and imported goods with the original prices in the marketplace (

.
“The opportunity for every port that uses this system is that there will be fewer and fewer illegal imports and exports,” said Purbaya confidently.
“But if we enter a rat port, yes, we have to put a ‘cat’ there. It seems, that can’t necessarily be protected. But I’m sure that most of the smuggled goods, the large ones, enter through the big ports,” he added.
The State Treasurer said that trials of new Customs tools and systems had been carried out on 145 goods import notifications (PIB).
As a result, the Ministry of Finance was able to prevent leaks worth IDR 1.2 billion.
“In the future, for deeper development, to make it more sophisticated throughout Indonesia, we estimate that we will need to invest around IDR 45 billion more to develop the IT system,” concluded Purbaya.
