car sales
in Indonesia in the next months will be booming.
He explained that car sales in October 2025 would still be -4.4 percent year on year (yoy).However, Purbaya claims that the record is better than previous data.
“Even though the latest figure is still -4.4 percent (yoy), the negative has decreased very significantly compared to previous months,” explained Minister of Finance Purbaya in a Working Meeting (Raker) with Commission XI DPR RI in Central Jakarta, Thursday (27/11).

“I think next month car sales will also start to be positive again,” he continued optimistically.
Referring to data from the Association of Motor Vehicle Industries (Gaikindo), car sales are approaching 75 thousand units.Wholesale car sales increased 19.2 percent, while retail grew 17.2 percent.
Car sales are likely to increase, but will not improve throughout 2025.Gaikindo data shows that the number of sales for the January to October period this year decreased compared to the same period in 2024.
On the other hand, Purbaya reported that motorbikes were selling well.
“In the real sector, motorbike sales grew 8.4 percent year on year. So, it is positive, high,” emphasized the State Treasurer.
Motorcycle sales in January 2025-October 2025 reached 5.4 million units, referring to data from the Motorcycle Industry Association (AISI).This is getting closer to the association’s target of 6.4 million units to 6.7 million units.
