Idrissa Gana Gueye
, became the center of attention after receiving a red card for slapping his own teammate, Michael Keane, in the Premier League match against Manchester United at Old Trafford, Tuesday (25/11) early morning Indonesian time.
The incident occurred in the 13th minute when Everton was facing pressure from the hosts’ attacks.Gueye and Keane appeared to be involved in an argument in the penalty box before the Senegalese midfielder swung his hand at Keane’s face.The referee immediately issued a red card without hesitation.
Idrissa Gana Gueye was born in Dakar, Senegal, on 26 September 1989. He is known as an energetic defensive midfielder, specializing in tackles and interceptions.

Gueye started his work on the gridiron by joining the Diambars academy located in Saly, Senegal, in 2007. The academy was founded by two French football legends, Patrick Vieira and Bernard Lama.
His steps on the professional stage began at Lille in 2008, which is currently occupied by Calvin Verdonk.Starting his career in the B team, Gueye then joined the first team from 2010 to 2015.
Gueye then joined Aston Villa.With The Villans, Gueye stayed in the 2015/2016 season.From Birmingham, Gueye moved to Liverpool to join Everton in mid-2016.
Gueye’s impressive performance made Paris Saint-Germain recruit him in 2019. After three seasons in France, he returned to Everton in 2022 and became one of the senior players in the team and became a pillar of the Toffees’ midfield.
Most of Gueye’s trophies were won while competing in France with Lille and PSG, such as winning Ligue 1, Coupe de France and Coupe de la Ligue.
With Les Parisiens, Gueye almost won the Champions League in the 2019/2020 season.At that time, Gueye and PSG had to settle for being runners up after losing to Bayern Munich.
At international level, Gueye has one cap on the Senegal Olympic team.While in the Teranga Lions senior national team, Gueye has 122 caps and seven goals since 2011.
