) bluntly said Saudi Arabia wants to normalize relations with
Israel
through the framework of the Abraham Accords, but on the condition that there is a “clear path” to its establishment

In a statement in Washington, United States (US), on Tuesday (18/11), MbS openly said he wanted to establish diplomatic relations with Israel within the framework of the agreement initiated by US President Donald Trump.

However, MbS emphasized that this prospect could be realized if there was a “clear path” regarding the establishment of a Palestinian state.
“We want to be part of the Abraham Accords. However, we also want to ensure that we secure a clear path to a two-state solution,” said MbS in the Oval Office with Trump, as quoted by AFP.
“We will try to do it, and prepare the right situation as soon as possible,” continued MbS.
MbS said Saudi wants peace for both Israel and Palestine.Riyadh wants the two to coexist peacefully in the Middle East region.
“We want peace for Israel. We want peace for the Palestinians… We want them to coexist peacefully in this region, and we will do our best to make that happen,” MbS said.
MbS’s statement was made when he visited the US for the first time since 2018. MbS met with Trump in the Oval Office and signed a number of agreements, starting from defense and technology.
This is MbS’s first visit after being involved in the alleged murder of Washington Post journalist from Saudi, Jamal Khashoggi.Khashoggi was murdered in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, Türkiye, in October 2018, allegedly by Riyadh agents.Saudi authorities have denied the allegations.
MbS’s visit also came amid discourse that Saudi would normalize relations with Israel.Saudi
The US has long been targeting reconciliation with Israel through the Abraham Accords.
The Abraham Accords are an agreement to normalize relations between Israel and Arab-Muslim countries initiated by Trump in his first term in office.Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Morocco and Sudan have signed this agreement.
The prospect of Saudi joining the Abraham Accords was almost realized but was hampered after Israel launched aggression into the Gaza Strip.
