submit a proposal for revitalization of the area
Old Town
and construction of an international standard Type A Hospital in Sumber Waras, West Jakarta, to be designated as a National Strategic Project (
PSN
).
This was conveyed by the Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung after meeting the Coordinating Minister (Menko) for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto at the office of the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy, Central Jakarta, on Monday (10/11).
“Today, we met with the Coordinating Minister for the Economy to discuss two things, namely the development of the Kota Tua area and the construction of an international standard hospital on the Sumber Waras land. We propose both of them to become PSN so that the development process can run more quickly and efficiently,” said Pramono in a written statement.

He explained that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government would collaborate with Danantara and the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy in revitalizing the Old City.
The reason is, the central government has assets in the area.
In revitalizing the Kota Tua area, the DKI Provincial Government will carry out basic infrastructure work, such as pedestrians, road repairs and river normalization starting in 2026.
Meanwhile, assets under Danantara management will also be repaired by the central government.
Apart from that, the DKI Provincial Government through PT MRT Jakarta is building Phase 2 MRT public transportation with the Hotel Indonesia (HI) Roundabout route to Kota Tua which will be completed in 2029.
In this way, the Kota Tua area will be connected to a modern public transportation system and transformed into a Transit Oriented Development (TOD) area.
“Until 2027, MRT construction will be carried out underground, there will no longer be anything on the surface. So, it is hoped that renovations or improvements to the Kota Tua area can be carried out in 2027. And in 2029, the MRT will be connected to Kota Tua and become a TOD area,” he said.
Apart from revitalizing the Old City, the DKI Provincial Government is preparing to build an international standard hospital on 3.6 hectares of Sumber Waras land after obtaining clearance from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK).
“We want to build a type A hospital with international standard. With a large area and strategic location, we want this hospital to become the main reference in Indonesia for heart disease, cancer and other special diseases,” he said.
He hopes that the designation of the revitalization of the Kota Tua area and the construction of the hospital in Sumber Waras as a PSN can facilitate the licensing, funding and cross-institution coordination process.
Regarding this proposal, Pamono revealed that Airlangga would study the DKI Provincial Government’s proposal.
“The spirit of this proposal is for the common good. I am sure the central government will provide full support. We will immediately complete all the administration needed for the construction of Kota Tua and the hospital in Sumber Waras,” he said.
