When receiving a state visit from King Abdullah II at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Friday (14/11), Prabowo said that his friendship with King Abdullah II had existed for a long time, since they were young.

“I forgot how many years ago. Almost what, 25 years ago? 26, 27, 28, 29, yes. So, how close we are. I always remember my good times in Jordan,” said Prabowo.
At that meeting, Prabowo also invited King Abdullah II to visit his private residence in Hambalang, Bogor Regency.
However, he realized that King Abdullah II had a very busy schedule, so during his visit to Indonesia this time he did not have time to visit there.
“So maybe next time I can convince you to come back with your family and so on. Think of Indonesia as your second home,” he said.
King Abdullah II also reminisces about their friendly relationship which began when they were young.
“And when you came to Jordan, my father asked, who is this person? I said, he is my brother. And my father said, if he is your brother, he is my brother. And, we have never looked back since then,” he said.
Prabowo and King Abdullah II’s closeness began when they both studied at the prestigious United States Army ranger school, Fort Benning.
The two of them also met in December 1995, when Prabowo was appointed as Commander General of Kopassus.
Their friendship also continued when Prabowo left Indonesia in 1998 and went into exile in Jordan.There, Prabowo was greeted with honor.
Every time they meet, the two characters often show off moments of closeness.When Prabowo visited Amman last April, King Abdullah II drove Prabowo directly from Marka Airport to the hotel where Prabowo was staying.
A similar moment also occurred during King Abdullah II’s state visit to Indonesia today.
After being picked up at Halim, Prabowo chose to share a car with King Abdullah II from Halim to the Presidential Palace.

Previously, Prabowo Subianto welcomed him when he arrived at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, Jakarta, this Friday (14/11) afternoon.
Various welcoming processions were held to welcome King Abdullah II to Indonesia.
First, a number of F-16 fighter jets escorted the plane that King Abdullah was carrying.
The F-16 fighter jet demonstrated its maneuvers in the air when King Abdullah II’s plane landed at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base.
His arrival was also greeted by an honorary cannon shot, aka gun salute.
After that, Prabowo and King Abdullah II rode in the same car to the Jakarta Presidential Palace from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base.Both of them sat in the passenger seat.
Upon arrival at the Jakarta Presidential Palace Complex, their arrival was again greeted by honorary cannon fire.
Apart from that, on the front fence of the Jakarta Presidential Palace there are also four yellow coconut leaves installed.
Prabowo and King Abdullah are old friends.Both of them have military backgrounds.
During Prabowo’s visit to Jordan, King Abdullah stated that his friendship with Prabowo had existed for a long time, starting when they were young.
“You and I have a friendship that goes back decades since we were young soldiers,” said King Abdullah II.
After the visit, Prabowo took home as souvenirs a number of agreements between the two countries.
These include agreements in the fields of defense, agriculture, education and religion.
