“Based on information from the public, we carried out an investigation and as a result, two suspects were arrested,” said Director of Criminal Investigation at Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Edy Suranta Sitepu in his statement, Friday (19/12).
This disclosure began when the police arrested suspect HS on a bus on the Pandeglang-Kalideres route on Thursday (18/12).

The suspect HS is known to act as a counterfeit money dealer.From HS’ hands, the police also confiscated counterfeit money in the form of 1,934 US dollar notes and 529 Singapore dollar notes, including a number of uncut notes.
Apart from that, the police also confiscated bags, cell phones, laptops, printers, printer ink and other equipment used to print fake money.
Next, the police expanded to the Pandeglang area, Banten and again succeeded in arresting the ARS suspect.The ARS suspect acted as a designer and printer of counterfeit USD and SGD notes.
“We have now detained the two suspects at the Metro Jaya Police Headquarters. Investigators are currently carrying out the investigation process,” said Edy.
Furthermore, Edy also appealed to the public to be more alert to the circulation of counterfeit money, especially foreign currency.The public is also asked to immediately report to the police or via the Police Call Center service 110 if they find suspicious transactions.
