A business jet crashes in North Carolina,

, on Thursday (18/12) and killed seven people, including a former NASCAR driver.
“There were a total of seven people on board the plane, all of whom died,” Iredell County Sheriff Darren Campbell told AFP.
The North Carolina State Highway Police reported the crash occurred as the plane had just taken off from Statesville airport.Not long after, the plane turned around to land, before finally crashing.

NASCAR confirmed that among the passengers was their former driver, Greg Biffle.
“The NASCAR family is deeply saddened by the passing of Greg Biffle, who was one of our 75 greatest drivers and was known for his humanitarian work after retirement. We express our deepest condolences,” said a statement from NASCAR in X.
According to Republican lawmaker Richard Hudson, Biffle was with his wife and two children on board the plane.
“I am devastated by the passing of Greg, Cristina, and their children. My heart goes out to everyone who loved them. They were friends who lived their lives focused on helping others,” Hudson wrote on social media.
According to local media, this accident was likely due to the bad weather that was currently occurring in North Carolina.At that time, it was drizzling and the cloud cover was low.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) stated that it would form a team to investigate the Cessna Citation C550 crash.
“The team is expected to arrive at the scene this evening,” the agency said in a statement.
