The Forest Area Control Task Force (PKH Task Force) is still calculating the value of losses from
environmental damage
which is suspected to be the cause of flood and landslide disasters in
Sumatra
.
Chief Executive of the PKH Task Force, Febrie Adriansyah, said that the value of the loss would later be borne by each company responsible for paying replacement costs.
“The PKH Task Force will place the responsibility for restoring the situation as a result of the disaster on the parties who will be held responsible,” he said in a press conference, Monday (15/12).

Febrie said that his party would process all companies proven to have committed damage.Apart from criminal charges, he said, the PKH Task Force will also evaluate existing permits and claims for environmental losses that have occurred.
Furthermore, he said that currently the PKH Task Force was still identifying a number of companies suspected of committing violations.
The alleged violations by a number of companies include the absence of permits and poor management of the permits they have, which has caused environmental damage.
“We have mapped out which companies caused this disaster. We already know the identities, we already know the locations, we already know what kind of criminal acts occurred,” he said.
On the same occasion, PKH Task Force Commander Major General TNI Dody Triwinarno said that a total of 31 companies had been identified as having committed violations that caused disasters.
“For those in Aceh, the temporary suspicion is that those directly affected, those directly related to the DAS (River Watershed), are 9 PTs,” explained Dody.
“For those in North Sumatra, the watersheds in Batang Toru, the Garoga River, then the one in Langkat, including the landslides there, there are 8, including the PHT (Land Rights Holder) group,” he continued.
Meanwhile, for West Sumatra Province, Dody said there were 14 local company entities suspected of committing violations.
