Patra Niaga opens its voice regarding LPG prices in Indonesia
Aceh
which soared amidst the disasters that hit a number of areas in Sumatra.
President Director of Pertamina Patra Niaga Mars Ega Legowo Putra said that LPG price increases did not occur in all areas of Aceh, but only in several areas such as Banda Aceh and Bireuen.According to him, the price spike occurred because LPG distribution was disrupted.
“Our largest stock of LPG in Aceh Province is in Lhokseumawe. So the route from Lhokseumawe to Banda Aceh is cut off, disrupting the supply of LPG from Lhokseumawe to Banda Aceh and its surroundings,” said Mars Ega in a press conference at the BPH Migas office, Jakarta, Monday (15/12).

Mars Ega said that his party had taken steps to deal with the increase in LPG prices in Aceh.
First,
create an alternative distribution route for LPG supplies, namely using sea routes. However, using the sea route takes longer than the land route.
Pertamina, he continued, operates two Roro Ships taking the Lhokseumawe – Banda Aceh route. In the future, Pertamina will add one more ship to supply LPG to Banda Aceh.
Then, Pertamina also brought in 5 LPG tank trucks from Dumai, Riau and West Java to Lhokseumawe to increase supplies in Banda Aceh and its surroundings.
“We and the regional government will also carry out market operations, because with market operations we will suppress speculators who take advantage of the tight situation. For example, if they take LPG in line, they will then sell it again at a high price,” he said.
“So we hope that the people of Banda Aceh and surrounding areas will be a little patient,” he continued.
The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) announced that the total number of victims who died as a result of the hydrometeorological disaster of flash floods and landslides in Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra which occurred sporadically at the end of last November had reached more than a thousand people as of Saturday (13/12).
