Even without Marselino, Ropan believes the U-23 Indonesian National Team will be able to compete to defend the gold medal won at the 2023 SEA Games. This is because three other diaspora players such as Ivar Jenner, Dion Markx, and Mauro Zijlstra are part of the Garuda Muda Team in this event.
“Ivar has arrived. In fact, Dion and Mauro Zijlstra have also arrived before. So I think the composition of our players is okay to be able to compete for the gold medal later in Chiang Mai,” he said.
Even though Marselino canceled, Indonesia’s squad for the 2025 SEA Games still has 23 players.As a replacement for Marselino, the U-23 national team called Rifqi Ray who will fly directly to Thailand.
Without Marselino, coach Indra Sjafri had to rack his brain again to find the right composition for the Red and White Team.Marselino is a versatile player who can play in a number of attacking positions, either as a winger or attacking midfielder.
