North Jakarta District Court (PN), Wahyu Gunawan, was sentenced to 11 years and 6 months in prison and a fine of IDR 500 million subsidiary to 6 months in prison.The decision was read by the Panel of Judges at the Corruption Crime Court (Tipikor) at the Central Jakarta District Court, Wednesday (3/12) evening.
The panel of judges assessed that Wahyu was proven to have accepted bribes related to the decision to release three companies exporting Crude Palm Oil (CPO) and its derivatives in the period January-April 2022. The three companies are the Wilmar Group, Permata Hijau Group and Musim Mas Group.
“To judge: sentence the defendant to imprisonment for 11 years and 6 months and a fine of IDR 500 million,” said Chief Judge Efendi when reading out the verdict.

In this case, Efendi was accompanied by judges Adek Nurhadi and Andi Saputra.Apart from the basic sentence, Wahyu is also required to pay compensation of Rp. 2.35 billion, subsidiary to 4 years in prison.
Wahyu was declared legally and convincingly proven to have committed the criminal act of corruption by accepting bribes together as regulated in Article 6 paragraph 2 jo.Article 18 of the Corruption Law jo.Article 55 paragraph 1 1 of the Criminal Code.The total bribes received reached IDR 2,365,300,000 in two stages.
The sentence was lighter than the demands of the Public Prosecutor (JPU) who asked for a sentence of 12 years in prison, a fine of IDR 500 million, subsidiary to 6 months in prison, and compensation of IDR 2.4 billion, subsidiary to 6 years in prison.
Both Wahyu and the prosecutor stated that they were still considering an appeal in the next seven days.
Previously, the Jakarta Corruption Court panel of judges handed down verdicts against three judges who decided to let go of the corporation in the CPO export case, namely Djuyamto, Agam Syarief Baharudin, and Ali Muhtarom.The three were sentenced to 11 years in prison and a fine of IDR 500 million subsidiary to 6 months in prison.
Djuyamto was also obliged to pay compensation of Rp. 9.21 billion, subsidiary to 4 years in prison, while Agam and Ali were each required to pay compensation of Rp. 6.4 billion, subsidiary to 4 years in prison.
Meanwhile, the former Deputy Chair of the Central Jakarta District Court, Muhammad Arif Nuryanta, was previously sentenced to 12.5 years in prison, a fine of IDR 500 million, subsidiary to 6 months in prison, and compensation of IDR 14.7 billion, subsidiary to 5 years in prison.
