has pocketed the names of 20 new diaspora players to strengthen its team ahead of the nearest tournament.
The Indonesian U-20 national team is facing a series of important agendas in the next year.Nearby are the 2026 AFF U-19 Cup and the 2027 U-20 Asian Cup Qualification.
“There are quite a lot, there are around 15 or 20 players. But we are still looking at [the players’ performance] through videos and their backgrounds. Later we will call them and see for themselves through training,” said Nova in Jakarta, Wednesday (10/12).

The plan is for the 2026 AFF U-19 Cup to take place in the middle of next year around May, June or July.Meanwhile, the 2027 U-20 Asian Cup Qualification will take place around September or October 2026.
Looking at these two agendas, Nova prepared 11 test matches.However, in more detail, the 47-year-old coach could not provide a more specific explanation regarding the schedule.
“So for our future program plans, according to what [PSSI Technical Director] Coach Alex said, how to prepare 11 trials leading up to the Asian Cup Qualifiers. That includes the plan to have an AFF cup in the middle, so the 11 trials are included in the [AFF U-19 Cup] match,” he said.
Furthermore, the former footballer who became famous for his Nun ngesot celebration admitted that he was waiting for an assignment from Technical Director Alex Zwiers to go abroad to monitor diaspora players.However, he has not yet received confirmation because PSSI is busy with the 2025 SEA Games.
