(North Sulawesi) Yulius Selvanus stipulates the increase
wages
provincial minimum (
UMP
) 2026 by 6.01 percent or IDR 277,205 to IDR 4,002,630 from the 2025 UMP of IDR 3,775,425.
“As Governor of North Sulawesi, I set the 2026 UMP at IDR 4,002,630 using an alpha of 0.8 with a multiplication of 6.018 percent, an increase of IDR 227,205,” said Yulius in a post posted on his Instagram account, Tuesday (23/12).
He said that the determination of the UMP and provincial sectoral minimum wages (UMSP) for North Sulawesi 2026 was outlined in Governor’s Decree Number 404 of 2025, which he signed on December 20 2025.

The determination of the UMP, said Yulius, refers to Government Regulation Number 49 of 2025 concerning Wages.
He explained that the UMSP also increased by around 6 percent, a figure greater than North Sulawesi’s 2026 UMP.
“The 2026 UMSP is IDR 4,102,696, using an alpha of 0.8 with a multiplier of 6.018 percent, an increase of IDR 232,885 from the previous UMSP of IDR 3,869,811,” he said.
According to Yulius, the determination of the UMP is an effort by the government to maintain workers’ welfare, while protecting people’s purchasing power amidst the current national economic conditions.
“We want the UMP to provide benefits for workers. But, on the other hand, it does not burden the business world,” he concluded.
