at the end of December 2025 or no later than January 2026.
This was stated by Exco PSSI member Endri Erawan at a press conference held in Jakarta, Tuesday (16/12).
“I have reported all this to the General Chair of PSSI [Erick Thohir] who is still busy taking care of the SEA Games. Let Mr. Ketum focus on the SEA Games first. After that, an exco meeting with Mr. Ketum, hopefully this month or at the latest next month a new coach will be announced,” said Endri.

Previously, Endri and the Head of the National Team Agency, Sumardji, had conducted interviews with several prospective coaches in Europe.
PSSI Technical Director Alexander Zwiers and Jordi Curyff as technical advisor to the Indonesian National Team, also took part in the interview session.
Endri admitted that the candidate for the Indonesian National Team coach was not far from the rumors circulating in the Indonesian media.It’s just that he was reluctant to mention the identity of the coach.
A number of coaching candidates are often associated with PSSI.John Heitinga, Giovanni van Bronckhorst, and John Herdman are most widely associated with the Garuda coaching chair.
“Indeed, as mentioned again, before returning to our homeland another name from Ketum appeared. So we will continue with the names. But I have no right to mention names, this is to protect privacy.”
“They also have many names and clubs that want them, so we have to understand their position. This is the coach’s request to keep it a secret, but the name is not too far from what has been circulating,” said Endri.
