“We are carrying out organizational evaluation steps following the disruption of social security and order in the Muara Batang Girls area, Mandailing Natal Regency,” said Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatra Regional Police, Police Commissioner Ferry Walintukan, Monday (22/12)
Ferry said the steps taken were part of the National Police’s internal mechanism in responding to the dynamics occurring in the field.

“The North Sumatra Police carried out an evaluation of the ranks of the Mandailing Natal Police regarding the incident that occurred. One of the steps taken was to replace the Muara Batang Girls Police Chief as a form of organizational reform and responsibility,” said Ferry.
According to him, Iptu Akmaluddin, who previously served as Muara Batang Girls Police Chief, was temporarily suspended from his position for the purposes of an internal investigation.He is now assigned as the First Officer (Pama) Yanma Polda North Sumatra.
“Ipda Samsuri, who daily serves as Head of the SPKT Mandailing Natal Police, was appointed to carry out duties and responsibilities as Acting (Plt.) Muara Batang Girls Police Chief, in addition to continuing to carry out his main duties,” he explained.
Previously, the Muara Batang Girls Police Station was burned to the ground by residents, Saturday (20/12).This incident occurred because residents were disappointed with the performance of the police who were suspected of releasing a drug dealer.
In the video circulating, the crowd was seen burning a motorbike parked in the police yard.The fire then spread to the building and burned the roof of the office.Apart from that, a police service car was also overturned by residents.
The incident started with the arrest of a man named Romadon who was suspected of being a drug dealer in Singkuang Village, Friday (19/12) at around 16.30 WIB.The residents, most of whom were housewives, then handed Romadon over to the Muara Batang Girls Police.
However, news that the man had been released by the police spread among the community and sparked disappointment.Residents even saw Romadon outside the police station.Disappointed residents staged a protest at the Muara Batang Girls Police Station.They also blocked the road connecting Singkuang-Natal.
