PU Minister Dody Hanggodo said the sending of volunteers was carried out due to the limited number of personnel in the three affected provinces.The majority of volunteers sent by PU are engineers.
“Actually, we already have around 300 PU personnel in 3 provinces, but because the damage there is massive, it extends to the sub-districts so we feel less personal, they are also certainly having difficulties because government facilities there are also paralyzed,” said Dody in a media briefing at his office, Thursday (18/12).

On the same occasion, Secretary General of the Ministry of Public Works, Wida Nurfaida, detailed that 234 volunteers were sent to Aceh, 101 volunteers to North Sumatra, and 67 volunteers to West Sumatra.These volunteers were State Civil Apparatus (ASN) who had previously been assigned to disaster locations.
“Later, he can also guide his younger siblings in parallel on how to carry out their duties at the disaster location,” he said.
In terms of the budget, Dody said the government has prepared IDR 51.8 trillion to repair infrastructure affected by floods and landslides in Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra.
Dody said that currently the Rp. 51.8 trillion budget prepared by the government is sufficient.However, the budget can develop along with conditions in the field.
He said his party would still see how much infrastructure needed to be repaired.
“So I say that as of this second, December 18 2025 is the number (Rp. 51 trillion) that we hold. But tomorrow it will definitely change,” he said.
