Minister of Industry Pursues Prabowo’s Dream National Car to Start Production in 2027

Agus revealed that his agency had even held discussions with PT Pindad (Persero), as a BUMN that would be assigned by the government to work on this project.
“We project that national cars will start production starting in 2027,” said Agus in a discussion with the media at his office, Thursday (13/11).

According to Agus, the discussions carried out with Pindad were quite detailed, including the type of vehicle that would be used as a National Car (Mobnas).
“Regarding Mobnas, there have been discussions between the Ministry of Industry and Pindad. We have discussed the details of the materials and types of vehicles that will be used. Pindad will also invite other partners to develop this Mobnas,” he explained.
Not only that, a financing scheme has also been discussed to develop Mobnas.However, he could not provide details because the process was still ongoing.

“Financing this project, including the technology, has also been discussed,” he explained.
Through coordination and discussions with Pindad, he assessed that the BUMN was capable of carrying out the assignment of producing Mobnas.The Ministry of Industry is ready to provide full support so that the program runs smoothly.
“In our assessment at the Ministry of Industry from the meeting with Pindad, we can temporarily conclude that Pindad is ready and the concept they have prepared is quite complete, so we are optimistic that the Mobnas project will run well,” he stressed.
