wants a rotation every two years for Nusakambangan officers to prevent the circulation of drugs in prisons.
He conveyed this during the 2025 Ministry of Economic Affairs Performance Coordination, Evaluation and Control Meeting at the Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta, Tuesday (16/12).

Agus said that 1,690 prisoners had been moved to the Nusakambangan super maximum prison, Central Java.Therefore, he reminded officers there to prevent drug trafficking.
“To date, we have moved more than 1,690 people to Nusakambangan. I remind friends in Nusakambangan, don’t let drug trafficking, fraud and control move to Nusakambangan,” he said.
“I repeat, don’t let our efforts to reduce the circulation of narcotics and fraud from prisons, which we have tried to prevent, actually happen in Nusakambangan Prison,” he continued.
Therefore, Agus asked the Directorate General of Corrections to rotate officers in Nusakambangan every two years.
“And if you have been in Nusakambangan for a long time, please Mr. Director General of Pas (Director General of Corrections). Move it. Don’t stay in Nusakambangan for more than 2 years. Please get an evaluation from Mr. Secretary of the Directorate General of Pas. Later you will make an inventory of the employees who are there. Don’t stay in one place for too long,” he said.
Apart from that, he also asked the Head of the Regional Office (Kakanwil) to immediately rotate officers who had passed 2 years.He believes that officers who take too long are actually more feared than the Head of the Technical Implementation Unit (Ka. UPT) there.
“Therefore, I ask the Regional Heads of Regional Offices who have been given the authority to transfer echelon 5 and below, who are more than 2 years old, to please rotate it in the environment. Don’t let the officers take longer, be more feared than the Head of UPT who is there,” he said.
