Raja Juli conveyed this when inaugurating the Palm Bioethanol pilot project in the Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PGE) Kamojang area, on Wednesday (19/11) today.
According to him, this project is the main basis for developing sugar palm-based green bioenergy according to the Prabowo government’s energy transition plan.

He emphasized that this pilot project is also proof that Indonesia’s forests have a variety of riches that can be used as clean energy and have high economic value for the community.
“This is a big step, that Indonesia’s forest wealth can produce clean energy that provides real benefits for society,” he explained.
Raja Juli said that the superiority of sugar palm itself had been a concern of the President for a long time.Energy security, he said, is one of Prabowo’s important programs that needs to be realized with the cooperation of all parties.
“Geopolitics are increasingly unstable, if something happens that we don’t want, in the end each nation will think for itself,” he said.
“Therefore, energy security is a definite program that must be implemented, especially by parties who have the obligation to implement Pak Prabowo’s program,” he added.
He explained that the entire palm bioethanol production process, from tapping palm sap, processing to using bioethanol fuel can be tested and utilized.
Furthermore, he said that sugar palm was chosen because it is the most potential commodity to support national bioethanol needs.This is because sugar palm can grow both under forests and on slopes that are not suitable for other plants.
“With its high productivity and stable availability, sugar palm can become one of the pillars of meeting national bioethanol needs,” he explained.
He said that if this project continues to develop, it is hoped that the economic value of the sugar palm commodity will also increase.So that the community will have a strong initiative to maintain forest cover and prevent land conversion.
On that occasion, the Minister of Forestry also filled up fuel containing Palm Bioethanol and tested the vehicle.
“The success of palm oil bioethanol is also very much determined by the community,” he concluded.
