A total of 74 foreigners without documents were detained in immigration raids at 10 housing units in Senai, Johor,
Malaysia
, including nine Indonesian citizens (

Johor Immigration Director, Datuk Mohd Rusdi Mohd Darus, said the operation started on Wednesday (26/11) at 00.45 local time.

“Around 40 enforcement officers carried out a raid on the two-story house after weeks of investigation and monitoring in the area. Many foreign nationals were found resting inside the house which had been converted into a residence,” Rusdi was quoted as saying

“Surprised by our presence, some of them tried to run away or hide in their rooms, but our team managed to detain them,” he added.
Rusdi said those detained consisted of six Indonesian men, 32 Myanmar men, 14 Bangladeshi men, 18 Myanmar women, and two Indonesian women, aged between 18 and 47 years.
A two-month-old Myanmar baby boy and a four-year-old Indonesian girl were also taken into custody, he added.
Rusdi said the detainees did not have valid travel documents or had passed their residence permit period.
He added that all of them were being investigated under the Immigration Law 1959/63 and had been sent to the Setia Tropika Immigration Depot.
