) Setyo Budiyanto revealed his agency’s plans to form a new deputy, namely deputy intelligence.
This, he said, was done to support efforts to eradicate criminal acts of corruption.
“In the direction of policy, there must be one section, one deputy, which we will then adjust the revision of the journalist to become the Deputy for Intelligence,” he said, Jakarta, Wednesday (19/11).

He added that the process of forming these deputies was already in progress.Moreover, he continued, the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) already had its initial foundation in the form of an Investigation Directorate.
“So this is already in process, because there is already an investigation directorate. If we might talk to or see from other APH (law enforcement officers), they don’t have an investigation directorate. But we do,” said the man who was previously known as a three-star police officer.
Apart from that, Setyo said that intelligence functions were actually needed in various sectors, including the private sector.
“But it will be even more complete, because there is an intelligence community. There is intelligence everywhere. Even the private sector has intelligence,” he said.
Furthermore, according to him, the KPK will really need intelligence to support its future tasks.
“Intelligence at the Corruption Eradication Committee is needed because apart from the community, we can also be said to be the eyes and ears of the leadership, but we can also support the tasks of eradicating corruption crimes. So many people will be arrested,” he said.
He hopes that the formation of this deputy can be carried out immediately by the KPK Secretariat General.
“Hopefully the Secretary General will do it later, it will be adjusted to the existing nomenclature,” he said.
